Journal Cover

I couldn't even wait for this one to dry before I took a picture! This is going to be used as a journal cover. It's a small canvas that I covered with a layer of tinted crackle paste and then used a mixture of liquid and airbrush acrylics and GAC 500. Loving the look of these colors together! I will have to be sure and post a picture of the finished product :)

Old Earings

This collage although simple, is a long time in the making. I pasted tissue paper to a small canvas and stuck some vintage earings in there almost a year ago. I just wasn't sure what to do with it after that. Lately, I've been doing a lot of journal work and haven't had time to paint or collage or anything. Today I picked it out of my pile of unfinished projects and decided to cover it in wax. I'm really enjoying the look of this one.

Wax Paintings

These 11" x 14" wax paintings/collage were very experimental for me. I used quite a few different heat tools and a bunch of different waxes and application methods for these. I really enjoyed the process as much as the results. What do you think?

FRIDAY!

Today is Friday, the most wonderful day of the week for almost everyone. Especially this Friday for me because my husband is coming home tomorrow to stay! We've been dealing with immigration for almost two years and this process is finally almost over. I can't wait to greet him when he gets off the ferry tomorrow afternoon.

Also, today I have been doing everything I can to not be doing my homework. In celebration of procrastination, here is the third and last painting in the series for MARK'd Body Art.

First Blog

Last month I took a portfolio to MARK'd Body Art which is in downtown Port Angeles. He liked a particular piece which he purchased and asked me to make a series. This is the second painting in that series which I finished yesterday. This one took me quite a long time because these dark blocks of semi-solid colors are not my usual style.

So this is my first post of my new blog! I'm mostly hoping to use it to showcase works as well as talk about the process, or anything else I can think of; maybe I'll even do a few tutorials or something. I completed a couple other new paintings today that I'm really excited about! I will blog about them soon!
